Materials for Energy and Environment

Purpose of class:

  • The global challenges of climate change and energy demands a need new class of materials, supposed to produce clean energy and being environmentally friendly.
  • The materials for energy and environment is a term used normally for the renewable energy, including the newly proposed superconducting based technologies which do not cause global warming.
  • The course in Master’s program offers a review on cutting edge materials and is designed for graduates with interest in attaining multi-disciplinary skills.
  • At the end of the course the students will master the basic principles, energy production methods, energy policy and possible energy strategies, air pollution and energy use, importance of superconducting applications, future energy alternatives, transportation, health care etc.
